Let’s get creative! Spend a November afternoon with neighbors, friends, and fellow makers as we wet and needle‑felt everlasting poppies using wool from Big Ash Farm’s flock of beloved Icelandic sheep. This workshop is all about slowing down, connecting with community, and creating something beautiful with your own hands (while enjoying some tasty nibbles - it’s an optional potluck, too!).
In this hands‑on workshop, you’ll learn how to sculpt poppy petals, pistils and stamens and put them all together on a graceful stem to craft your own, one of a kind blossom! No experience needed — if you can rub your hands together and hold a needle, you’re set. We’ll turn local wool into bold red blooms, one satisfying poke at a time. You’ll head home with one or two finished poppies and perhaps a new friend or two.

What To Bring: a nibble to share (if you can, if life gets in the way no worries - we’d rather have ya join the fun than not)!
This workshop is led by Noelle Schreiber, shepherdess of the Big Ash Farm flock, located on the eastern outskirts of Boulder. Noelle LOVES making fun and functional things using the wool of her flock of Icelandic sheep through felting - both needle and wet felting. It blows her mind how something so simple can create such neat stuff!
The only thing Noelle loves more than my flock and felting with their wool is introducing others to t!he magic of felting! She leads a number of workshops throughout the year where participants use the flock’s wool to create fun and functional things using needle and/or wet felting. Not only do we create with our hands, we create new friendships with others in our community! I hope you’ll join me!
